Romesco sauce by Ferrer
Classic Catalan tomato almond sauce based on pulverized almonds, hazelnuts, ñora peppers and tomatoes. Originally made by fishermen to eat with fish, this sauce is so good it has been adopted to accompany poultry, red meat (especially lamb) and vegetables dishes. This is the sauce that is traditionally served with calçots at a calçotada in early spring.
